                <div align="justify">-The Hindu</div><p align="justify"><em>Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): </em>Given that about 30 per cent of the national energy goes to conventional cooking, bringing down LPG consumption holds the key.</p><p align="justify">As the likely targets are social welfare hostels and schools, where mass cooking of meals is an integral part of the daily chore, New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) gave a demo at Social Welfare Boys' Hostel here recently on the use of &lsquo;Eco Cooker', which promises to offer 70 per cent savings on the use of LPG.</p><p align="justify">A product of Eco Sense Private Limited, the cooker was developed in collaboration with Mumbai-based Institute of Chemical Technology and Land Research Institute. Unlike the conventional appliances, this cooker works on the principle of retaining the steam (and heat), sealed by a close circuit, which in turn cooks the food efficiently retaining the flavour and nutrients.</p><p align="justify">The apparatus comprises a modified regulator, which releases gas to maintain a constant temperature of 72&deg; Celsius, distributed evenly through a low-flame burner. &quot;It not only offers savings on the LPG use, but also preserves the nutritional value and improves the taste of the food,&quot; said NREDCAP District Manager C.B. $disp = '<div align="justify">-The Hindu</div><p align="justify"><em>Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): </em>Given that about 30 per cent of the national energy goes to conventional cooking, bringing down LPG consumption holds the key.</p><p align="justify">As the likely targets are social welfare hostels and schools, where mass cooking of meals is an integral part of the daily chore, New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) gave a demo at Social Welfare Boys' Hostel here recently on the use of &lsquo;Eco Cooker', which promises to offer 70 per cent savings on the use of LPG.</p><p align="justify">A product of Eco Sense Private Limited, the cooker was developed in collaboration with Mumbai-based Institute of Chemical Technology and Land Research Institute. Unlike the conventional appliances, this cooker works on the principle of retaining the steam (and heat), sealed by a close circuit, which in turn cooks the food efficiently retaining the flavour and nutrients.</p><p align="justify">The apparatus comprises a modified regulator, which releases gas to maintain a constant temperature of 72&deg; Celsius, distributed evenly through a low-flame burner. &quot;It not only offers savings on the LPG use, but also preserves the nutritional value and improves the taste of the food,&quot; said NREDCAP District Manager C.B. Jagadeeswara Reddy.</p><p align="justify">K. Arun Sai, Director and CEO of Nations Pride Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd, a NREDCAP-authorised agency, said that the cooker would be useful in areas where a large quantity of food is prepared such as company canteens, hotels, welfare hostels, while multiple items such as rice, dal, vegetables and meat could be cooked at one go. Eco Sense Regional Sales Managers Md. Ghouse Pasha and N.
