Leading a pathetic life after being sexually exploited and abandoned by the extremists, eight tribal women have now sought CM Mayawati's intervention to help in their rehabilitation.</font><br /><br /><font >Hailing from the Naxal-affected Kaimur range, which includes Robertsganj, Mirzapur, Sonebhadra and Chandauli, these women had joined the banned outfits between 2000-2005. Most were driven by abject poverty and some out of anger against exploitation and oppression by dominant Yadav community, police and forest officials in the area.</font><br /><br /><font >But Naxals too exploited and abandoned them when they became pregnant. Some women surrendered to police while few others were arrested. Today, all these women are finding it hard to survive as their families have refused to take them back. Government agencies too have not provided any help.
