Twenty-nine of the schools will come up in Khagaria.</p><p align="justify">Agriculture director Dharmendra Kumar said: &quot;These schools are being set up to train farmers in the new agricultural techniques they should use. Experts will also disseminate crucial information among the farmers.&quot;</p><p align="justify">The schools will start from November. Classes will be conducted out of panchayat buildings or any public place that can accommodate 200 farmers at a time.</p><p align="justify">In seven districts in the Kosi and Purnea divisions, 181 such schools will open. They will have agricultural experts at their disposal in the classes, where apart from knowing new things they can clear their doubts.&quot;</p><p align="justify">Farmers who have had success with different farming techniques would also share their experiences at these schools. According to the plan, the farmers would get an understanding of how to use chemicals and bio-fertilisers to increase their crop output apart from extensive knowledge about the latest agricultural tools.</p><p align="justify">The classes could also help the state's tillers cope with after-effects of natural calamities such as the cyclone Hudhud. Last week potato fields were destroyed because of incessant rain owing to Hudhud's impact. Farmers feared a loss of about 60-70 per cent of the cultivation but the state government's initiative can help the tillers tide over such situations in the future and benefit financially. </p>               </font>

Agro schools for farmers -Lalitesh Mishra

-The Telegraph Saharsa: Farmers in the Purnea and Kosi divisions will go to school from next month to learn about the latest agricultural techniques and how to reap maximum benefit from their produce. As many as 210 farmers' schools will come up in the state, including Purnea and Saharsa, for which the government has allocated Rs 1.8 crore. Twenty-nine of the schools will come up in Khagaria. Agriculture director Dharmendra Kumar said: "These schools are being set up to train farmers in the new agricultural techniques they should use. Experts will also disseminate crucial information among the farmers." The schools will start from November. Classes will be conducted out of panchayat buildings or any public place that can accommodate 200 farmers at a time. In seven districts in the Kosi and Purnea divisions, 181 such schools will open. The districts to be benefited are Purnea, Kishanganj, Araria, Katihar (in the Purnea division), Saharsa, Madhepura and Supaul (in the Kosi division). Both the divisions, criss-crossed by rivers, are flood-prone and large tracts of swamps dot it. Mohan Choudhary, a farmer from Barihai Bazaar village in Saharsa district, around 200km northeast of Patna, said: "It is a good move and farmers would really benefit from it. They will have agricultural experts at their disposal in the classes, where apart from knowing new things they can clear their doubts." Farmers who have had success with different farming techniques would also share their experiences at these schools. According to the plan, the farmers would get an understanding of how to use chemicals and bio-fertilisers to increase their crop output apart from extensive knowledge about the latest agricultural tools. The classes could also help the state's tillers cope with after-effects of natural calamities such as the cyclone Hudhud.
