The transplantation now seems good and farmers don't sound distressed,&quot; said Sudhanshu Kumar, a farmer from Samastipur.

A good yield looks unlikely this year,&quot; said Shankar Rai, a farmer at Darbhanga.

However, the rain from the retreating monsoon around September-end would be crucial as it would provide required moisture in the fields during harvest,&quot; said Anil Jha of the state agriculture department.
