                <div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday said the Centre and the Assam government would sign a peace accord with the militant outfit of the hill district Karbi Anglong &mdash; United Peoples Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) in Delhi on November 25.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">The UPDS was formed in 1999 in a merger of the erstwhile Karbi People's Front (KPF) and Karbi National Volunteers (KNV) . The UPDS entered into a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2002 and holding negotiations with the government since then.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Mr. Gogoi told journalists here that the Centre had appointed the former Intelligence Bureau Chief, P.C. Haldar, as its interlocutor for peace negotiation with the Ranjan Daimary faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB).</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Mr. Haldar is the Centre's interlocutor for holding peace negotiation with other insurgent outfits including ULFA, NDFB (Progressive) and both the factions of Dima Halam Daogah.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Mr. Gogoi said that efforts were to convince another militant outfit Karbi Longri N.C. Hills Liberation Front (KLNLF) to be part of the peace accord. He also said efforts would continue to bring the Paresh Barua-led faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) to the negotiation table.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify"><em>Blast on rail track</em></div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Amidst these forward movement in peace negotiations between the government and different insurgent outfits of the State, two suspected militants of the Paresh Barua faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom(ULFA) were killed during a blast that occurred on railway track at Sonari in upper Assam's Sivasagar district before dawn on Monday.
