Fear stalks the telecom industry that the CBI may now zero in on promoters and senior executives of some companies.<br /><br />The CBI FIR of October 2009 says, &quot;Certain officials of DoT entered into a criminal conspiracy with certain private persons/companies and misused their official position in grant of Unified Access Service License, causing wrongful loss to the government and causing corresponding wrongful gain to those private persons/companies&quot;.<br /><br />Targets are companies that that have been listed in the CAG report for receiving licences in January 2008. These include Swan (now Etisalat DB), Unitech, Tata Tele, Sistema Shyam, S Tel, Datacom (now Videocon), Loop, Idea and Allianz Infratel.<br /><br />When contacted, a CBI official said, &quot;Investigations are on, we cannot divulge the details&quot;.
