This lockdown has neither strengthened the efforts to combat the pandemic nor has it provided any relief to beleaguered citizens. The Oxford Dictionary defines post-truth as &ldquo;relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief&rdquo;. The propaganda and spin machine of the government projects a surreal world divorced from the truth.</p><p style="text-align:justify">The first year of this government has been traumatic.
