Despite this, the data reflect a culture of reluctance or fear when it comes to women reporting crime against themselves and the lack of avenues for women to be able to file cases.</p><p style="text-align:justify">Using the National Judicial Data Grid, which was created under the eCourts project of the Centre&rsquo;s Department of Justice, the authors of this article found that women file just 8.6% of the total number cases in India in 2021.
