Accordingly, Government has issued notification on Tuesday to this effect.</p><p align="justify">As per the notification, fruits and vegetables will remain notified agricultural produce, under Delhi Agriculture Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1998, within the principal yards or sub-yards of the respective marketing committees and will be regulated as per the provisions of the Act. In a significant step to curb inflation and check hoarding Delhi government has delisted fruit and vegetables from Azadpur, Keshopur and Shahdara Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMC).</p><p align="justify">&quot;The sale and purchase of fruit and vegetables in the existing market yards and sub yards shall be regulated and in rest of Delhi, it will not be,&quot; said a Delhi government official. Accordingly, Government has issued notification on Tuesday to this effect.</p><p align="justify">As per the notification, fruits and vegetables will remain notified agricultural produce, under Delhi Agriculture Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1998, within the principal yards or sub-yards of the respective marketing committees and will be regulated as per the provisions of the Act. However, fruits and vegetables will not remain the notified agricultural produce beyond the area of principal yards and sub-yards and thus will not be regulated. </p><p align="justify">&quot;Outside the market yards or sub yards, there will be no bar on establishment of new markets by other players like, co-operative societies, Kissan Mandis, NAFED, Mother Dairy, SAFAL etc. bringing competition in the marketing of fruits and vegetables, giving rise to the best practices in the trade and fair play for all,&quot; said the official.</p><p align="justify">The farmer or seller will have the option to sell fruits and vegetables wherever he likes, to get better price. The bulk buyers can also buy fruits and vegetables anywhere as per their choice, at a competitive price. Consumers will also get value for money as they can get better products at affordable price. Delhi government has issued a notification on June 19 to delist fruits and vegetables from the three mandis inviting suggestions.</p><p align="justify">In response, 1335 objections or suggestions were received from various stake holders, out of which, 22 objectors had requested for personal hearing. The objections and suggestions were placed before Competent Authority, and VP Rao, IAS, Director (Agriculture Marketing) and a report was put up before L-G. </p>               </font>

Delhi: Najeeb Jung gives farmers option to sell their produce outside mandis

-IBNLive.in New Delhi: Farmers henceforth will have the liberty to sell their produce directly to the end buyer. In a significant step to curb inflation and check hoarding Delhi government has delisted fruit and vegetables from Azadpur, Keshopur and Shahdara Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMC). "The sale and purchase of fruit and vegetables in the existing market yards and sub yards shall be regulated and in rest of Delhi, it will not be," said a Delhi government official. Accordingly, Government has issued notification on Tuesday to this effect. As per the notification, fruits and vegetables will remain notified agricultural produce, under Delhi Agriculture Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1998, within the principal yards or sub-yards of the respective marketing committees and will be regulated as per the provisions of the Act. However, fruits and vegetables will not remain the notified agricultural produce beyond the area of principal yards and sub-yards and thus will not be regulated. "Outside the market yards or sub yards, there will be no bar on establishment of new markets by other players like, co-operative societies, Kissan Mandis, NAFED, Mother Dairy, SAFAL etc. bringing competition in the marketing of fruits and vegetables, giving rise to the best practices in the trade and fair play for all," said the official. The farmer or seller will have the option to sell fruits and vegetables wherever he likes, to get better price. The bulk buyers can also buy fruits and vegetables anywhere as per their choice, at a competitive price. Consumers will also get value for money as they can get better products at affordable price. Delhi government has issued a notification on June 19 to delist fruits and vegetables from the three mandis inviting suggestions. In response, 1335 objections or suggestions were received from various stake holders, out of which, 22 objectors had requested for personal hearing. The objections and suggestions were placed before Competent Authority, and VP Rao, IAS, Director (Agriculture Marketing) and a report was put up before L-G.
