Fire at Hyderabad godown kills 11 migrant workers; PM Modi announces Rs 2 lakh compensation for families -Ashish Pandey

Eleven migrant workers from Bihar were burnt alive when flames engulfed a scrap godown in Hyderabad. As many as six fire engines were required to bring the fire under control.

Hyderabad: Eleven workers were burnt alive when a massive fire engulfed a scrap godown in Hyderabad’s Bhoiguda area on Wednesday morning. Six fire engines were required to bring the fire under control.

One person managed to survive after he broke a window in order to escape. He is currently in critical condition at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the deaths and announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for each of the families of the deceased. "The loss of life in the devastating fire at Bhoiguda in Hyderabad is tragic. I extend my condolences to the families of the deceased during this mourning period. 2 lakh each from PMNRF to be given to the families of the deceased," he said.
