They were found unsuitable for direct consumption as they contained percentages of ash insoluble in Hydrochloric acid.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;font &gt;In their order, Chief Justice S J Mukhopadhaya and Justice Akil Kureishi said that furnishing details of the scheme which identifies these SHGs and Mahila Mandals was necessary before the contractor is banned.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;font &gt;&amp;ldquo;It is not clear as to whether any scheme has been framed by the state for identification of SHGs or Mahila Mandals for each village or for a group of villages. Rather they should leave the buying and preparation to groups of local women, as locally available materials will be used, and the women will also be able to emulate the same at home.</font><br /><br /><font >Earlier this year, the Woman and Child Development department had floated a global e-tender and awarded a Rs 500-crore contract to a Noida-based company, Suruchi Foods, to supply these premixes to ICDS.</font><br /><br /><font >The Public Health Laboratory at V S Hospital in Ahmedabad had in August tested two packages that were part of these premixes.
