Asking the state government to concentrate more on the food processing industries, she said there was huge scope for setting up such units here in Chhattisgarh and it would also help in solving the unemployment problems. The Century belongs to Asia and India&rsquo;s role in it will be major, the President added.<br />
<br />
Talking about the natural resources, Patil said it should be explored sufficiently. &ldquo;But at the same, we need to be cautious while using the precious minerals so that the environment is protected while the tribals living in forests also joins the mainstream of development,&rdquo; she said.<br />
<br />
The President urged the Naxalites to shun violence and pave way for ensuring progress, and development in the remote tribal areas. &ldquo;I urge Naxalites and those involved in violent acts to shun violence, come forward for talks and join the mainstream of the society,&rdquo; she said.',

The farmers should establish better coordination in the other sectors of the economy and at the same time, should avail the benefits of the farm loan and marketing facilities for the produce besides value addition of the yield, the President said.<br />
<br />
Asking the state government to concentrate more on the food processing industries, she said there was huge scope for setting up such units here in Chhattisgarh and it would also help in solving the unemployment problems. The Century belongs to Asia and India&rsquo;s role in it will be major, the President added.<br />
<br />
Talking about the natural resources, Patil said it should be explored sufficiently. &ldquo;But at the same, we need to be cautious while using the precious minerals so that the environment is protected while the tribals living in forests also joins the mainstream of development,&rdquo; she said.<br />
<br />
The President urged the Naxalites to shun violence and pave way for ensuring progress, and development in the remote tribal areas. &ldquo;I urge Naxalites and those involved in violent acts to shun violence, come forward for talks and join the mainstream of the society,&rdquo; she said.',

Food security depends on development of agriculture sector, says President by R Krishna Das
President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has stressed for increasing agricultural production in the country by using modern technology.
“We must not forget that the food security in the country is dependent on the development of agriculture sector,” she said while addressing members of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly here on Friday afternoon before inaugurating the newly constructed central hall in the premises.
The President said new agriculture system and modern technology should be used with the participation of the panchayats to increase agricultural production in the country. “This should be our target (to enhance agricultural production),” she added.
The farmers should establish better coordination in the other sectors of the economy and at the same time, should avail the benefits of the farm loan and marketing facilities for the produce besides value addition of the yield, the President said.
Asking the state government to concentrate more on the food processing industries, she said there was huge scope for setting up such units here in Chhattisgarh and it would also help in solving the unemployment problems. The Century belongs to Asia and India’s role in it will be major, the President added.
Talking about the natural resources, Patil said it should be explored sufficiently. “But at the same, we need to be cautious while using the precious minerals so that the environment is protected while the tribals living in forests also joins the mainstream of development,” she said.
The President urged the Naxalites to shun violence and pave way for ensuring progress, and development in the remote tribal areas. “I urge Naxalites and those involved in violent acts to shun violence, come forward for talks and join the mainstream of the society,” she said.
