The programme combines distance learning with in-class modules.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">&quot;Corruption's detrimental effects on the welfare of societies cannot be redressed with quick-fixes,&quot; chair of IACA's international transition team Martin Kreutner said, introducing prospective students to the MACS degree. &quot;The programme will provide its participants with innovative strategies and tools for tackling this menace at its core,&quot; Kreutner said, adding that it will cover a vast spectrum of academic disciplines and sectors to ensure sustainable results.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Originally an initiative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the European Anti-Fraud Office, the Republic of Austria and other stakeholders, IACA turned into an international organisation in March last year with a constituency of over 60 UN member-states and global bodies.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">According to the DoPT, officers in CBl, CVC, vigilance and anti-corruption wings of state and central governments as well as chief vigilance officers in public sector enterprises will be eligible for sponsorship to the programme. Successful completion of the 25,000 euro (over Rs 17 lakh) course will lead to a Master's degree under the European Bologna process that enables enrolment into Ph.D programmes.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Former cabinet secretary TSR Subramanian welcomed the initiative and suggested it should be extended to politicians too.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">&quot;It's good that we are sending bureaucrats to this interesting course, but for real change, we should also nominate some ministers to it,&quot; he told ET.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">In Vienna, students will study the core concepts of corruption and its intersection with politics, economics and business in their first year at IACA, before focusing on courses that provide practical strategies to counter corruption through law enforcement and preventive systems in the second year.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Apart from the tuition fee, studying officers would get an allowance of $200 a day for lodging and boarding costs as well as economy class air tickets to attend the classes. Six modules of the course will be imparted at IACA's Vienna headquarters and one module will be hosted in Malaysia in cooperation with the country's Anti Corruption Commission.</div>'
