China's economy, which is four times bigger than India, has made remarkable progress in reducing hunger. As a result, the country has been ranked ninth in the index, the report said.</font><br /><br /><font >India's economy expanded at 7.4% in 2009-10 and is expected to grow by 8.5% the current financial year. Mr Gulati says the difference in the extent of hunger reduction between India and China was largely because of contributors to the growth. India's growth story is more focused on services sector, especially IT and telecom. &ldquo;Agriculture sector is still waiting for reforms ,&rdquo; he said. China&#039;s economy, which is four times bigger than India, has made remarkable progress in reducing hunger. As a result, the country has been ranked ninth in the index, the report said.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;font &gt;India&#039;s economy expanded at 7.4% in 2009-10 and is expected to grow by 8.5% the current financial year. Mr Gulati says the difference in the extent of hunger reduction between India and China was largely because of contributors to the growth. India&#039;s growth story is more focused on services sector, especially IT and telecom. &amp;ldquo;Agriculture sector is still waiting for reforms ,&amp;rdquo; he said.
