&lt;br /&gt;
The ordinance reverses the Allahabad High Court&amp;rsquo;s 2017 order of 13-point roster which recognised individual departments as units for considering reservation. It was recently upheld by the Supreme Court which dismissed a special leave petition of the Centre against the HC verdict.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after the promulgation of the ordinance with the Presidential assent, UGC ordered all central, state and deemed universities to resume faculty recruitment for over 5000 vacancies immediately, which had been on hold since July, 2018.&lt;br /&gt;

The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers&#039; Cadre) Ordinance, 2019 will restore the 200-point roster system for faculty recruitment under which quotas for SC/STs and OBCs were calculated on the basis of an institution&amp;rsquo;s staff strength and not that of an individual department.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The ordinance reverses the Allahabad High Court&amp;rsquo;s 2017 order of 13-point roster which recognised individual departments as units for considering reservation. It was recently upheld by the Supreme Court which dismissed a special leave petition of the Centre against the HC verdict.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after the promulgation of the ordinance with the Presidential assent, UGC ordered all central, state and deemed universities to resume faculty recruitment for over 5000 vacancies immediately, which had been on hold since July, 2018.&lt;br /&gt;

The Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Teachers&#039; Cadre) Ordinance, 2019 will restore the 200-point roster system for faculty recruitment under which quotas for SC/STs and OBCs were calculated on the basis of an institution&amp;rsquo;s staff strength and not that of an individual department.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The ordinance reverses the Allahabad High Court&amp;rsquo;s 2017 order of 13-point roster which recognised individual departments as units for considering reservation. It was recently upheld by the Supreme Court which dismissed a special leave petition of the Centre against the HC verdict.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Soon after the promulgation of the ordinance with the Presidential assent, UGC ordered all central, state and deemed universities to resume faculty recruitment for over 5000 vacancies immediately, which had been on hold since July, 2018.&lt;br /&gt;

Soon after the promulgation of the ordinance with the Presidential assent, UGC ordered all central, state and deemed universities to resume faculty recruitment for over 5000 vacancies immediately, which had been on hold since July, 2018.<br />
