Though the figures are lower this year as compared to 2012, Chhattisgarh showed higher civilian killings (up from 6 to12). </p> <p align="justify"> However, to give the counter-Naxal forces credit, killings of Maoists by the security forces rose to 18 in the first quarter of 2013 from 14 in the corresponding period of last year.
