Still, it will be higher than the record 80.68 million tonnes produced in 2007-08.</font></p><p align="justify"><font >Rice output has also been revised downward to 89.13 million tonnes from 89.31 million tonnes. The production in 2008-09 was much higher at 99.18 million tonnes.</font></p><p align="justify"><font >Coarse cereals</font></p><p align="justify"><font >A significant decline is expected in the production of coarse cereals at 33.77 million tonnes compared to 40.03 million tonnes in 2008-09. The major shortfall will be in maize output.
