While NAC proposed consent of 70% of the local people to the project for which the state would acquire land, the ministry is working to make it 80%. The effort is to make the central policy more farmer-friendly than what UP chief minister Mayawati recently announced.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;ldquo;We are incorporating a provision where 20% of the appreciation in land value following the project would be given to the land owner for 10 years,&amp;rdquo; said NC Saxena, NAC member and key member of the ministerial consultations.&lt;br /&gt;

The new bill also limits emergency clause to only defence and natural calamites.

The rural ministry is preparing a new version of the bill in time for Cabinet approval and introduction in the Monsoon session starting Monday.&lt;br /&gt;

While NAC proposed consent of 70% of the local people to the project for which the state would acquire land, the ministry is working to make it 80%. The effort is to make the central policy more farmer-friendly than what UP chief minister Mayawati recently announced.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;ldquo;We are incorporating a provision where 20% of the appreciation in land value following the project would be given to the land owner for 10 years,&amp;rdquo; said NC Saxena, NAC member and key member of the ministerial consultations.&lt;br /&gt;

The new bill also limits emergency clause to only defence and natural calamites.
