As per official figure, 1.3 crore people in the city have already enrolled for Aadhaar, out of whom 1.20 crore people have been issued Aadhaar number. Delhi has a population of 1.68 crore.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;quot;It was reported that 94 per cent of the population has been enrolled for Aadhaar numbers and only 6 per cent are left. The Chief Minister has instructed the Divisional Commissioner to complete 100 per cent enrollment by March 31,&amp;quot; a senior official said. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The meeting was attended by the Food Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf, Chief Secretary D M Spolia, UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani and top officials of several banks, besides officials of various Delhi Government departments.&lt;br /&gt;

Later speaking to media, Dikshit exhorted people to get themselves enrolled for Aadhaar numbers saying it would be mandatory for getting various government services. &amp;quot;People not having Aadhaar number will not be able to avail the benefits under various government schemes,&amp;quot; she said.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Delhi government had made Aadhaar number mandatory last month for accessing a number of services provided by Delhi government like marriage registration, property registration and issuance of domicile certificate. The government plans to make it mandatory for getting all government services.&lt;br /&gt;

While reviewing the implementation of the centrally sponsored direct cash transfer schemes in North West and North East districts, the Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to extend them to all 11 districts.&lt;br /&gt;

Expressing unhappiness over implementation of the scheme, she asked concerned department to ensure time-bound transfer of cash benefits to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister also asked bank representatives not to insist on production of resident proof for opening of no-frill bank accounts if a person presents his Aadhaar number.&lt;br /&gt;

Divisional Commissioner Dharam Pal said government was in the process of linking all major services with the Aadhaar database to ensure transparency in governance. Dikshit has been pushing for linking the services with Aadhaar database to avoid duplication and ensure that only intended people get benefit of various welfare schemes.

Dikshit issued the direction at a high-level meeting which reviewed the implementation of direct cash transfer schemes of the central government that was rolled out in two districts of the city last month.<br /><br />As per official figure, 1.3 crore people in the city have already enrolled for Aadhaar, out of whom 1.20 crore people have been issued Aadhaar number. Delhi has a population of 1.68 crore.<br /><br />&quot;It was reported that 94 per cent of the population has been enrolled for Aadhaar numbers and only 6 per cent are left. The Chief Minister has instructed the Divisional Commissioner to complete 100 per cent enrollment by March 31,&quot; a senior official said. <br /><br />The meeting was attended by the Food Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf, Chief Secretary D M Spolia, UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani and top officials of several banks, besides officials of various Delhi Government departments.<br /><br />Later speaking to media, Dikshit exhorted people to get themselves enrolled for Aadhaar numbers saying it would be mandatory for getting various government services. &quot;People not having Aadhaar number will not be able to avail the benefits under various government schemes,&quot; she said.<br /><br />Delhi government had made Aadhaar number mandatory last month for accessing a number of services provided by Delhi government like marriage registration, property registration and issuance of domicile certificate. The government plans to make it mandatory for getting all government services.<br /><br />While reviewing the implementation of the centrally sponsored direct cash transfer schemes in North West and North East districts, the Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to extend them to all 11 districts.<br /><br />Expressing unhappiness over implementation of the scheme, she asked concerned department to ensure time-bound transfer of cash benefits to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister also asked bank representatives not to insist on production of resident proof for opening of no-frill bank accounts if a person presents his Aadhaar number.<br /><br />Divisional Commissioner Dharam Pal said government was in the process of linking all major services with the Aadhaar database to ensure transparency in governance. Dikshit issued the direction at a high-level meeting which reviewed the implementation of direct cash transfer schemes of the central government that was rolled out in two districts of the city last month.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As per official figure, 1.3 crore people in the city have already enrolled for Aadhaar, out of whom 1.20 crore people have been issued Aadhaar number. March 31 deadline for Aadhaar number issuance in Delhi

-PTI Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday set a deadline of March 31 for completing issuance of Aadhaar number to people in the city so that all major welfare schemes could be linked to it soon. Dikshit issued the direction at a high-level meeting which reviewed the implementation of direct cash transfer schemes of the central government that was rolled out in two districts of the city last month. As per official figure, 1.3 crore people in the city have already enrolled for Aadhaar, out of whom 1.20 crore people have been issued Aadhaar number. Delhi has a population of 1.68 crore. "It was reported that 94 per cent of the population has been enrolled for Aadhaar numbers and only 6 per cent are left. The Chief Minister has instructed the Divisional Commissioner to complete 100 per cent enrollment by March 31," a senior official said. The meeting was attended by the Food Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf, Chief Secretary D M Spolia, UIDAI chairman Nandan Nilekani and top officials of several banks, besides officials of various Delhi Government departments. Later speaking to media, Dikshit exhorted people to get themselves enrolled for Aadhaar numbers saying it would be mandatory for getting various government services. "People not having Aadhaar number will not be able to avail the benefits under various government schemes," she said. Delhi government had made Aadhaar number mandatory last month for accessing a number of services provided by Delhi government like marriage registration, property registration and issuance of domicile certificate. The government plans to make it mandatory for getting all government services. While reviewing the implementation of the centrally sponsored direct cash transfer schemes in North West and North East districts, the Chief Minister directed the Revenue Department to extend them to all 11 districts. Expressing unhappiness over implementation of the scheme, she asked concerned department to ensure time-bound transfer of cash benefits to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister also asked bank representatives not to insist on production of resident proof for opening of no-frill bank accounts if a person presents his Aadhaar number. Divisional Commissioner Dharam Pal said government was in the process of linking all major services with the Aadhaar database to ensure transparency in governance. Dikshit has been pushing for linking the services with Aadhaar database to avoid duplication and ensure that only intended people get benefit of various welfare schemes.
