Meet on implementation of MGNREGA soon

-The Times of India

The Central Board for Workers Education (CBWE) will conduct a national seminar on implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ( MGNREGA) at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on July 15 and 16.

CBWE director Arvind Kumar Drave said that the seminar would be attended by representatives from various parts of the country. He told newspersons that CBWE was involved in the programme in order to create awareness among rural masses and to monitor its implementation throughout the country with the help of its national network of 50 regional directors and their teams of officers.

H N Tiwari of CBWE said that it came into existence on September 16, 1958 with an aim to inculcate a sense of patriotism, national integrity, unity, communal harmony, secularism and national pride among all sections of the working class, including rural workers. Seven objects were fixed at that time and one of them was to meet the needs of workers and access to upgradation of knowledge and skills, he added.

The CBWE head office is in Nagpur.
