Waghela and Justice B.V. Nagarathna passed the order on the petition filed by H. Marappa and others of Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Samathavada).</p><p align="justify">Pointing out that Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter has granted Rs. 32.5 crore from the State exchequer to 13 Lingayat maths, the petitioners complained that the government unilaterally allotted grants mainly to maths of one particular community.</p><p align="justify">&quot;Under the Constitutional scheme, public funds cannot be distributed as freebies to any agency in a whimsical manner by any one, including the Chief Minister,&quot; the petitioners contended while alleging that this amounts to &quot;partisan attitude by the Chief Minister placating his community people so that they form a vote bank for him to see that he comes back to power.&quot;</p><p align="justify">Alleging that grants were made with an ulterior motive, the petitioners alleged that these maths are well placed financially and economically, and are self-sufficient. Patil passed the order after the PU Board filed an affidavit indicating that it has already awarded nine grace marks to the students who had attempted to answer five questions (four questions carrying two marks each and another carrying one mark) as per the norms. And, the Board itself had noticed that there was some confusion in the questions framed though they were not completely wrong. The Board also pointed out that many students had understood the questions and answered correctly.</p><p align="justify">Kaushik H.M. of Seshadrupuram College, Yelahanka had filed the petition.</p><p align="justify">The PU Board has denied the allegation by the petitioner that there were many other errors and termed the allegations as frivolous and motivated. The High Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by a student complaining that there were mistakes in questions carrying total 40 marks in the II PU Mathematics question paper this year.Justice B.S. Patil passed the order after the PU Board filed an affidavit indicating that it has already awarded nine grace marks to the students who had attempted to answer five questions (four questions carrying two marks each and another carrying one mark) as per the norms. And, the Board itself had noticed that there was some confusion in the questions framed though they were not completely wrong. The Board also pointed out that many students had understood the questions and answered correctly.

Marappa and others of Dalit Sangharsha Samiti (Samathavada).</p><p align="justify">Pointing out that Chief Minister Jagadish Shetter has granted Rs. 32.5 crore from the State exchequer to 13 Lingayat maths, the petitioners complained that the government unilaterally allotted grants mainly to maths of one particular community.</p><p align="justify">&quot;Under the Constitutional scheme, public funds cannot be distributed as freebies to any agency in a whimsical manner by any one, including the Chief Minister,&quot; the petitioners contended while alleging that this amounts to &quot;partisan attitude by the Chief Minister placating his community people so that they form a vote bank for him to see that he comes back to power.&quot;</p><p align="justify">Alleging that grants were made with an ulterior motive, the petitioners alleged that these maths are well placed financially and economically, and are self-sufficient.
