Bose hostel rape case to get justice.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">With these &ldquo;landmarks&rdquo; serving as a background, the &lsquo;One Billion Rising&rsquo; campaign was launched in Rajasthan on December 10, the International Human Rights Day. The campaign is a global movement launched to stop violence against women.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">The movement was launched in the presence of hundreds of young and old women by Rajasthan Women and Child Development Minister Bina Kak, social activist Aruna Roy, renowned feminist Kamala Bhasin, and Rajasthan Women&rsquo;s Commission chief Professor Lad Kumari Jain. Ms. Bhasin is also the regional coordinator of the &lsquo;One Billion Rising&rsquo; South Asia campaign.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Explaining the background of the campaign, Ms. Bhasin said the data released by the United Nations showed that globally one out of every three women was beaten up or raped or both. Statistically, that meant more than a billion women were victims of violence, sexual or otherwise, she said. &ldquo;On 14th February 2013 [Valentine&rsquo;s Day], more than one billion women, men and children will rise to deliver the message of love and affection helping us move towards a violence free society for women. We believe that in Rajasthan, lakhs of women and men will stand up for this cause,&rdquo; she said.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Ms. Kak said she would do all that was required to end violence against women and in her individual capacity, her solidarity was with every woman. She also flew a kite with the slogan &ldquo; mahila himsa &mdash; kabhi nahi, kahi nahi &rdquo; [Violence against women, never again] inscribed on it.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">Citing statistics from the National Crime Records Bureau, Ms. Roy said cases of violence against women were increasing with each passing day.
