During a debate opposition legislators came down heavily on the ruling BJD and highlighted various instances of irregularities under the rural job scheme. They said 60% of the people who had been given job cards had not got employment for 100 days in 2011-12, but officers had misappropriated the money by claiming that all job card holders had got the mandatory employment.<br />
<br />
The opposition sought to know the findings of the CBI probe into alleged irregularities in implementation of UPA's flagship scheme in six districts and demanded that the scope of the inquiry be expanded to all 30 districts in the state. The Supreme Court had ordered the CBI inquiry following allegations by a NGO that Rs 500 crore was embezzled or diverted in Odisha under the scheme in 2006-07.

Das said under the scheme so far 404,281 projects have been taken up, of which 245,199 have been completed. A total of Rs 1.53 lakh had been distributed as unemployment allowance to 708 people of 187 families, he added.<br />
<br />
During a debate opposition legislators came down heavily on the ruling BJD and highlighted various instances of irregularities under the rural job scheme. They said 60% of the people who had been given job cards had not got employment for 100 days in 2011-12, but officers had misappropriated the money by claiming that all job card holders had got the mandatory employment.<br />
<br />
The opposition sought to know the findings of the CBI probe into alleged irregularities in implementation of UPA's flagship scheme in six districts and demanded that the scope of the inquiry be expanded to all 30 districts in the state. The Supreme Court had ordered the CBI inquiry following allegations by a NGO that Rs 500 crore was embezzled or diverted in Odisha under the scheme in 2006-07.

He said so far 100.33 lakh families had been given employment under the scheme. Of these, 6.06 lakh families had been employed for 100 days a year.<br /><br />Das said under the scheme so far 404,281 projects have been taken up, of which 245,199 have been completed. A total of Rs 1.53 lakh had been distributed as unemployment allowance to 708 people of 187 families, he added.<br /><br />During a debate opposition legislators came down heavily on the ruling BJD and highlighted various instances of irregularities under the rural job scheme. They said 60% of the people who had been given job cards had not got employment for 100 days in 2011-12, but officers had misappropriated the money by claiming that all job card holders had got the mandatory employment.<br /><br />The opposition sought to know the findings of the CBI probe into alleged irregularities in implementation of UPA's flagship scheme in six districts and demanded that the scope of the inquiry be expanded to all 30 districts in the state. The Supreme Court had ordered the CBI inquiry following allegations by a NGO that Rs 500 crore was embezzled or diverted in Odisha under the scheme in 2006-07.</div>'
