The allocation for the two schemes was about Rs 6,500 crore last year, whereas the total allocation for the panchayati raj ministry is Rs 94 crore this year.</p><p align="justify">The BRGF is implemented in 272 backward districts and aims to redress regional imbalances by providing funds for infrastructure projects. The RGPSA aims at capacity building of gram panchayat officials and representatives.</p><p align="justify">Former panchayati raj minister K.C. Deo said the ministry would be left with hardly any work. &quot;Why should the ministry exist at all?
