On Thursday, the court directed the state government to place its status reports on all these projects before it by October 30. The bench of acting chief justice A L Dave and justice Pardiwala also directed the state authorities to place on record the status of their efforts to transfer the contract of providing food to school and anganwadi children from private contractors to the women&#039;s groups. In March, the state government ensured the HC that it would complete the procedure of handing over the responsibility of supplying breakfast to kids at 28,500 anganwadi centres across the state to self help groups and mahila mandals.&lt;br /&gt;

The SC had issued directions prohibiting the state governments to get supply of food for children through contractors. The HC has been proceeding with the issue of food security and PDS for more than three years after a division bench took cognizance of complaints from various places about irregularities in PDS. On Thursday, the court directed the state government to place its status reports on all these projects before it by October 30. The bench of acting chief justice A L Dave and justice Pardiwala also directed the state authorities to place on record the status of their efforts to transfer the contract of providing food to school and anganwadi children from private contractors to the women&#039;s groups. In March, the state government ensured the HC that it would complete the procedure of handing over the responsibility of supplying breakfast to kids at 28,500 anganwadi centres across the state to self help groups and mahila mandals.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The SC had issued directions prohibiting the state governments to get supply of food for children through contractors. The HC has been proceeding with the issue of food security and PDS for more than three years after a division bench took cognizance of complaints from various places about irregularities in PDS.
