In fact there has been a roll back on transparency measures through discontinuation of Saturday public audit mechanism and stoppage of SMS alerts that informed people about the date of delivery of ration to their FPS, she added. Besides, the organisation has also sought for expanding food security coverage beyond the population norm stipulated in the NFSA to include other marginalised people like the homeless, transgender and migratory workers.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;ldquo;The government has filled less than 50 per cent of the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota allotted for Delhi. As per data available on the Delhi government website, the government has identified and given out Antyodyaya ration cards to only 76,456 families out of Delhi&#039;s quota of 1,56,800,&amp;rdquo; said Ms Bhardwaj.&lt;br /&gt;

Providing eggs, fruits and milk for children everyday through the mid-day meal scheme and through anganwadis is another demand mentioned in the charter which has been submitted to the Delhi government. &amp;ldquo;While more than 12 States have introduced eggs, fruits or milk through the mid-day-meal scheme or through anganwadis for young children, the Delhi government has not made any such special provision for children&amp;rsquo;s food security,&amp;rdquo; stated the charter.&lt;br /&gt;

                <div align="justify">-The Hindu<br /><br /><em>The underprivileged have raised their voice for effective implementation of the National Food Security Act<br /></em><br /><em>New Delhi: </em>Ahead of the Delhi government Budget, the city&rsquo;s underprivileged have raised their voice for effective implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the Capital and demanded an increase in its budgetary allocation.<br /><br />Representing hundreds of poor people in Delhi, NGO Rozi Roti Adhikar Abhiyaan met over 20 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs to urge the government to put in place the requisite resources and mechanisms to operationalise the law properly.<br /><br />&ldquo;The AAP&rsquo;s election manifesto promised food security for residents of Delhi. Despite its poll promise, the government has not made any provision for providing dal or oil under the PDS in the city. More than 10 States provide pulses or oil under PDS,&rdquo; said Anjali Bhardwaj, a Right to Food activist.<br /><br />In fact there has been a roll back on transparency measures through discontinuation of Saturday public audit mechanism and stoppage of SMS alerts that informed people about the date of delivery of ration to their FPS, she added. Besides, the organisation has also sought for expanding food security coverage beyond the population norm stipulated in the NFSA to include other marginalised people like the homeless, transgender and migratory workers.<br /><br />&ldquo;The government has filled less than 50 per cent of the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota allotted for Delhi. As per data available on the Delhi government website, the government has identified and given out Antyodyaya ration cards to only 76,456 families out of Delhi's quota of 1,56,800,&rdquo; said Ms Bhardwaj.<br /><br />Providing eggs, fruits and milk for children everyday through the mid-day meal scheme and through anganwadis is another demand mentioned in the charter which has been submitted to the Delhi government. &ldquo;While more than 12 States have introduced eggs, fruits or milk through the mid-day-meal scheme or through anganwadis for young children, the Delhi government has not made any such special provision for children&rsquo;s food security,&rdquo; stated the charter.<br /><br />The charter also highlights that the Delhi government is yet to implement maternity entitlements across all districts in the capital. &ldquo;Under Section 4 of the NFSA, all pregnant and lactating women are entitled to Rs. 6,000 as maternity entitlement. The maternity entitlement due under the NFSA is still running as a pilot scheme in only 2 districts in Delhi even after almost three years of the enactment of the Act,&rdquo; it said.<br /><br />The charter signed by noted social activists like Annie Raja, Amrita Johri, Dipa Sinha, Koninika Ray, Vimla, Shakeel and Rajender Kumar also noted that widespread corruption and apathy within the system continues even after the Aam Aadmi Party has completed more than a year in government.</div>               </font>

Despite its poll promise, the government has not made any provision for providing dal or oil under the PDS in the city. More than 10 States provide pulses or oil under PDS,&amp;rdquo; said Anjali Bhardwaj, a Right to Food activist.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In fact there has been a roll back on transparency measures through discontinuation of Saturday public audit mechanism and stoppage of SMS alerts that informed people about the date of delivery of ration to their FPS, she added. Besides, the organisation has also sought for expanding food security coverage beyond the population norm stipulated in the NFSA to include other marginalised people like the homeless, transgender and migratory workers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;ldquo;The government has filled less than 50 per cent of the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota allotted for Delhi. As per data available on the Delhi government website, the government has identified and given out Antyodyaya ration cards to only 76,456 families out of Delhi&#039;s quota of 1,56,800,&amp;rdquo; said Ms Bhardwaj.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Providing eggs, fruits and milk for children everyday through the mid-day meal scheme and through anganwadis is another demand mentioned in the charter which has been submitted to the Delhi government. &amp;ldquo;While more than 12 States have introduced eggs, fruits or milk through the mid-day-meal scheme or through anganwadis for young children, the Delhi government has not made any such special provision for children&amp;rsquo;s food security,&amp;rdquo; stated the charter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The charter also highlights that the Delhi government is yet to implement maternity entitlements across all districts in the capital. &amp;ldquo;Under Section 4 of the NFSA, all pregnant and lactating women are entitled to Rs. 6,000 as maternity entitlement. Besides, the organisation has also sought for expanding food security coverage beyond the population norm stipulated in the NFSA to include other marginalised people like the homeless, transgender and migratory workers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;ldquo;The government has filled less than 50 per cent of the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota allotted for Delhi. As per data available on the Delhi government website, the government has identified and given out Antyodyaya ration cards to only 76,456 families out of Delhi&#039;s quota of 1,56,800,&amp;rdquo; said Ms Bhardwaj.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Providing eggs, fruits and milk for children everyday through the mid-day meal scheme and through anganwadis is another demand mentioned in the charter which has been submitted to the Delhi government. &amp;ldquo;While more than 12 States have introduced eggs, fruits or milk through the mid-day-meal scheme or through anganwadis for young children, the Delhi government has not made any such special provision for children&amp;rsquo;s food security,&amp;rdquo; stated the charter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The charter also highlights that the Delhi government is yet to implement maternity entitlements across all districts in the capital. &amp;ldquo;Under Section 4 of the NFSA, all pregnant and lactating women are entitled to Rs. 6,000 as maternity entitlement. Despite its poll promise, the government has not made any provision for providing dal or oil under the PDS in the city. More than 10 States provide pulses or oil under PDS,&rdquo; said Anjali Bhardwaj, a Right to Food activist.<br /><br />In fact there has been a roll back on transparency measures through discontinuation of Saturday public audit mechanism and stoppage of SMS alerts that informed people about the date of delivery of ration to their FPS, she added. Besides, the organisation has also sought for expanding food security coverage beyond the population norm stipulated in the NFSA to include other marginalised people like the homeless, transgender and migratory workers.<br /><br />&ldquo;The government has filled less than 50 per cent of the Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota allotted for Delhi.
