These include three expressways, Mumbai elevated rail corridor, a major port, greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai, locomotive projects, two ultra-mega power plants and a number of power transmission works.</p><p align="justify">The projects have been identified by key infrastructure ministries. The progress on intermediate steps will be monitored on a regular basis, a release from PMO said. &quot;The deadlines will ensure that ministries/departments are clear about not just the overall deadline but also all the intermediate steps that need to be completed so that there are no slippages,&quot; it said.</p><p align="justify">Principal secretary to the PM Pulok Chatterjee has directed all ministries/departments to nominate a nodal officer who will report on a weekly basis on the progress of their departments' projects, the release said.</p><p align="justify">On the big road projects front, Eastern Peripheral Expressway around Delhi would be awarded by this year-end while the two others - Mumbai-Vadodara and Delhi-Meerut - would be bid out by end of March 2014. Moreover, the highways ministry will also work on the financial model for the Delhi-Jaipur expressway. The pre-feasibility will be completed by mid August.</p><p align="justify">The PMO said that the issue of whether financial bidding will be reissued for Mumbai elevated rail project will be resolved by railways within a week and the project would be bid out by January. These include three expressways, Mumbai elevated rail corridor, a major port, greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai, locomotive projects, two ultra-mega power plants and a number of power transmission works.</p><p align="justify">The projects have been identified by key infrastructure ministries. The progress on intermediate steps will be monitored on a regular basis, a release from PMO said. &quot;The deadlines will ensure that ministries/departments are clear about not just the overall deadline but also all the intermediate steps that need to be completed so that there are no slippages,&quot; it said.</p><p align="justify">Principal secretary to the PM Pulok Chatterjee has directed all ministries/departments to nominate a nodal officer who will report on a weekly basis on the progress of their departments' projects, the release said.</p><p align="justify">On the big road projects front, Eastern Peripheral Expressway around Delhi would be awarded by this year-end while the two others - Mumbai-Vadodara and Delhi-Meerut - would be bid out by end of March 2014. Moreover, the highways ministry will also work on the financial model for the Delhi-Jaipur expressway. The pre-feasibility will be completed by mid August.</p><p align="justify">The PMO said that the issue of whether financial bidding will be reissued for Mumbai elevated rail project will be resolved by railways within a week and the project would be bid out by January. Similarly, the Greenfield port project in Durgarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh would be awarded by March end while government claims to bid Navi Mumbai airport by January.</p><p align="justify">According to the release, two ultra mega power projects in Cheyyar (Tamil Nadu) and Bedabahal (Odisha) would be awarded by January end while several power transmission projects would be bid out during this fiscal.</p><p align="justify">Moreover, power ministry would try to award 13 identified transmission projects within timelines. Similarly civil aviation ministry would move ahead on Goa (Mopa) airport project besides awarding operation, maintenance and transfer contracts for 4-5 airports by the end of this fiscal year.</p>               </font>

PMO to award contracts for 17 infrastructure plans -Dipak Kumar Dash

-The Times of India NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) is targeting the award of at least 17 big infrastructure projects during this financial year. These include three expressways, Mumbai elevated rail corridor, a major port, greenfield airport in Navi Mumbai, locomotive projects, two ultra-mega power plants and a number of power transmission works. The projects have been identified by key infrastructure ministries. The progress on intermediate steps will be monitored on a regular basis, a release from PMO said. "The deadlines will ensure that ministries/departments are clear about not just the overall deadline but also all the intermediate steps that need to be completed so that there are no slippages," it said. Principal secretary to the PM Pulok Chatterjee has directed all ministries/departments to nominate a nodal officer who will report on a weekly basis on the progress of their departments' projects, the release said. On the big road projects front, Eastern Peripheral Expressway around Delhi would be awarded by this year-end while the two others - Mumbai-Vadodara and Delhi-Meerut - would be bid out by end of March 2014. Moreover, the highways ministry will also work on the financial model for the Delhi-Jaipur expressway. The pre-feasibility will be completed by mid August. The PMO said that the issue of whether financial bidding will be reissued for Mumbai elevated rail project will be resolved by railways within a week and the project would be bid out by January. Similarly, the Greenfield port project in Durgarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh would be awarded by March end while government claims to bid Navi Mumbai airport by January. According to the release, two ultra mega power projects in Cheyyar (Tamil Nadu) and Bedabahal (Odisha) would be awarded by January end while several power transmission projects would be bid out during this fiscal. Moreover, power ministry would try to award 13 identified transmission projects within timelines. Similarly civil aviation ministry would move ahead on Goa (Mopa) airport project besides awarding operation, maintenance and transfer contracts for 4-5 airports by the end of this fiscal year.
