A total sum of over 2,000 crore has been transferred in these high Aadhaar coverage districts providing direct benefits in the hands of the consumers,&quot; an official release said.</p><p align="justify">The scheme was launched on June 1 this year with an aim to curb leakages and prevent black-marketing and provide subsidy to consumers in their bank accounts.</p><p align="justify">Subsidy on LPG cylinders is being provided directly to consumers in their Aadhaar linked bank accounts.</p><p align="justify">As per the scheme all Aadhaar linked domestic LPG consumers are getting an advance in their bank account (1.5 crore transactions so far) as soon as they book their first subsidised cylinder, before delivery, it said.</p><p align="justify">On the delivery of the first subsidised cylinder, the next subsidy (2.5 crore transactions so far) again gets transferred in their bank account, which is available for the purchase of next subsidised cylinder at market rate.</p><p align="justify">Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has started various initiatives to make the processes simpler and to expand the reach of DBTL to all LPG consumers, the release stated.</p><p align="justify">The officials said the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have undertaken multi-pronged efforts to educate the consumers for linking their Aadhaar numbers to LPG consumer number and in bank account.</p><p align="justify">&quot;After the end of grace period of each phase, LPG cylinders will be sold to all domestic LPG consumers at market price. However, the subsidy will be transferred to only those who have linked Aadhaar number to LPG consumer number and Bank account and others will not get any subsidy,&quot; the release said.</p><p align="justify">Under the DBT schemes, the Government is aiming to ensure that the benefit reaches intended beneficiary thereby curbing wastage or leakage in the subsidy delivery system.</p>'
