<br />
Bhuiyan's death has been recorded by local police as &quot;unnatural&quot;. Kabutri was also sanctioned a widow pension of Rs 400 a month. The widow was given one more cheque for Rs 24,250 as first instalment of Indira Awas Yojana. She was already paid Rs 10,000 in cash by way of social security.<br />

<br />
Under this provision, the Palamu administration today handed over Rs 75,000 (25,000 by cheque and Rs 50,000 in term deposit) to Kabutri Kuarn.<br />
<br />
Bhuiyan's death has been recorded by local police as &quot;unnatural&quot;. Kabutri was also sanctioned a widow pension of Rs 400 a month. The widow was given one more cheque for Rs 24,250 as first instalment of Indira Awas Yojana. She was already paid Rs 10,000 in cash by way of social security.<br />
<br />
As much as 25 kg of rice as well as six blankets were also given to her. In a week's time, this dalit family could stock up 75 kg rice (50 kg was given the day Jaggu's body was found hanging).

Deputy commissioner Pooja Singhal on Friday handed over a cheque for Rs 25,000 to Kabutri Kuarn, the widow of anMGNREGA job card holder from Hotai village under Panki block, Jaggu Bhuiyan (45), who was found hanging from a tree on January 7 in the village.
Singhal also made a fixed deposit of Rs 50,000 in her and her sons' names for a period of three years in a nationalized bank. Referring to a directive from the state government, Singhal said, "Any MGNREGA labourer who has in one financial year put in 15 days of work in an MGNREGA scheme and dies an unnatural death, will get an ex gratia relief to the tune of Rs 75,000."
Under this provision, the Palamu administration today handed over Rs 75,000 (25,000 by cheque and Rs 50,000 in term deposit) to Kabutri Kuarn.
Bhuiyan's death has been recorded by local police as "unnatural". Kabutri was also sanctioned a widow pension of Rs 400 a month. The widow was given one more cheque for Rs 24,250 as first instalment of Indira Awas Yojana. She was already paid Rs 10,000 in cash by way of social security.
As much as 25 kg of rice as well as six blankets were also given to her. In a week's time, this dalit family could stock up 75 kg rice (50 kg was given the day Jaggu's body was found hanging).
