So far, the commission has imposed fine on 600 officials in the State and collected from them fine totalling Rs. 30 lakh. In reply to a query, he said the Act was enacted to bring transparency in administration and so far it has not made significant progress in this direction owing to lack of awareness about the RTI Act among the general public. &amp;ldquo;The district administration, non-government organisations and educational institutions should conduct awareness programmes on the RTI Act&amp;rdquo;, he added.&lt;br /&gt;

Sajjan Rao added.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So far, the commission has imposed fine on 600 officials in the State and collected from them fine totalling Rs. 30 lakh. In reply to a query, he said the Act was enacted to bring transparency in administration and so far it has not made significant progress in this direction owing to lack of awareness about the RTI Act among the general public. &amp;ldquo;The district administration, non-government organisations and educational institutions should conduct awareness programmes on the RTI Act&amp;rdquo;, he added.&lt;br /&gt;

Sajjan Rao added.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So far, the commission has imposed fine on 600 officials in the State and collected from them fine totalling Rs. 30 lakh. In reply to a query, he said the Act was enacted to bring transparency in administration and so far it has not made significant progress in this direction owing to lack of awareness about the RTI Act among the general public. &amp;ldquo;The district administration, non-government organisations and educational institutions should conduct awareness programmes on the RTI Act&amp;rdquo;, he added.&lt;br /&gt;
