                <div style="text-align: justify">-The Times of India</div><div style="text-align: justify">&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: justify"><em>LOHARDAGA: </em>The Right to Information (RTI) Act has exposed a scam worth over Rs 32 lakh.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">The report received under RTI has been submitted as supportive evidence in the case that was lodged recently with the Senha police station (Case No. 13/12) under various sections of IPC for cheating the government and the public. The complainant, Ganesh Sahu, a social activist has accused three concerned engineers in the case that was lodged with the PS and now being supervised by DSP (Headquarters) following Sahu's case. The FIR said public money was fraudulently withdrawn from the treasury without building a check dam in Sithio village. The scheme (No. 4/2004-05) was sanctioned to build a check dam on Sithio Nala of Sithio village. The estimated cost of the scheme was over Rs 32 lakh.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">&quot;Since the estimated project report was prepared by Lalu Oraon, junior engineer on 18.10.2005 and technical auction was granted by the then executive engineer on 21.10.2005 and was handed over to Lalu Oraon to be done with the help of Subhash Oraon and Rakesh Kumar, both junior engineers. I have made them accused in the case,&quot; said Sahu.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">He said no check dam was constructed in Sithio and the surprising fact is that there is no place called Sithio Nala in the village. He has said in the FIR that after an intensive search for the place and the check dam, he filed an RTI application. The report proved that the scheme was bogus, imaginary and fraudulent. &quot;I complained to the concerned departments in Lohardaga district but all went in vain. The complainant, Ganesh Sahu, a social activist has accused three concerned engineers in the case that was lodged with the PS and now being supervised by DSP (Headquarters) following Sahu's case. $disp = '<div style="text-align: justify">-The Times of India</div><div style="text-align: justify">&nbsp;</div><div style="text-align: justify"><em>LOHARDAGA: </em>The Right to Information (RTI) Act has exposed a scam worth over Rs 32 lakh.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">The report received under RTI has been submitted as supportive evidence in the case that was lodged recently with the Senha police station (Case No. 13/12) under various sections of IPC for cheating the government and the public. The complainant, Ganesh Sahu, a social activist has accused three concerned engineers in the case that was lodged with the PS and now being supervised by DSP (Headquarters) following Sahu's case. The FIR said public money was fraudulently withdrawn from the treasury without building a check dam in Sithio village. The scheme (No. 4/2004-05) was sanctioned to build a check dam on Sithio Nala of Sithio village. The estimated cost of the scheme was over Rs 32 lakh.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">&quot;Since the estimated project report was prepared by Lalu Oraon, junior engineer on 18.10.2005 and technical auction was granted by the then executive engineer on 21.10.2005 and was handed over to Lalu Oraon to be done with the help of Subhash Oraon and Rakesh Kumar, both junior engineers. I have made them accused in the case,&quot; said Sahu.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">He said no check dam was constructed in Sithio and the surprising fact is that there is no place called Sithio Nala in the village. He has said in the FIR that after an intensive search for the place and the check dam, he filed an RTI application. The report proved that the scheme was bogus, imaginary and fraudulent. &quot;I complained to the concerned departments in Lohardaga district but all went in vain. In one of my letters to the DC, I had also announced Rs 1001 cash award to the person telling the dam site in Sithio village on 28.1.11,&quot; he said.</div><div style="text-align: justify"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify">DSP AK Jha, who is supervising the case, said he would not disclose the supervision note till he submits it on record. &quot;I did not find a check dam constructed in Sithio,&quot; said the DSP.</div>'
