Acting on the complaints from parents, the DoE on Wednesday decided to serve notices to errant schools asking them to either rectify their admission criteria or face cancellation of the entire process. The education officials are expected to visit schools from Thursday onwards to keep a check on the parameters being followed for admitting children in nursery. <br /><br />&quot;We have received several complaints from parents against the criteria being adopted by some schools. The education officials are expected to visit schools from Thursday onwards to keep a check on the parameters being followed for admitting children in nursery. <br /><br />&quot;We have received several complaints from parents against the criteria being adopted by some schools. No school will be allowed to consider the qualification or profession of parents for selecting a child for nursery admission. It is against the spirit of the right to education (RTE). So we will ask them to change their criteria if it's discriminatory. Their entire admission process will be cancelled if they don't abide by the rules,&quot; said state education minister Arvinder Singh. He added, &quot;The admission process may have already started but changes in the criteria can still be made. The applications already received by the school will remain safe though.&quot; <br /><br />The right to education being implemented from this year prohibits any kind of screening or discrimination for admission at entry level till class VIII. Another school in Pitampura wants parents to first buy a registration code for Rs 400 from the school to fill up the form online which is the only way to apply. So many other schools give extra points to professionals and alumni of elite institutes. Schools flouting RTE to face action

The directorate of education (DoE) has finally decided to crack down on schools flouting the nursery admission rules in the city.
