Altogether, 1,590 forms have been submitted since Sunday,&rdquo; he said.<br /><br />The 15 counters set up at the BDO office to receive the forms were by and large deserted, with an applicant turning up occasionally.<br /><br />Dudh Kumar Dhara, the chief of Beraberi gram panchayat who is also a member of the 19-member committee set up to facilitate the land return, said less farmers turned up today to submit forms primarily because of the Supreme Court order. &ldquo;The farmers have realised that there is no point hurrying. But there have also been cases of farmers failing to produce succession or mutation certificates.&rdquo;<br /><br />The &ldquo;unwilling&rdquo; farmers who are yet to submit their forms said they were disappointed by the Supreme Court order, which has put the land distribution on hold till further orders from the high court.<br /><br />&ldquo;I had expected to get back my land quickly. My three sisters and I had got a succession certificate from court as both our parents have died. But now, there is no point hurrying. As it is, we have time till July 22 to submit our forms,&rdquo; said Shyamsundar Ghosh, 40, of Khaserbheri.
