On Monday, the mother and sister of a rape victim had died after five members of the family had consumed poison in a suicide pactafter allegedly being tormented by cops.</p><p align="justify">The victim was raped last year in May and had gone missing since February this year. The police had allegedly been pressuring the family to 'reveal' the whereabouts of the girl as the rape case was pending in the court. Third member of family in suicide pact dies

-The Times of India ROHTAK: One more member of the Hisar dalitfamily who had attempted suicide on Monday died in hospital on Tuesday, taking the toll to three. The nine-year-old boy breathed his last early on Tuesday while undergoing treatment atPGIMS in Rohtak. Doctors said the condition of two others, including an 11-year-old boy and his father, was still critical. On Monday, the mother and sister of a rape victim had died after five members of the family had consumed poison in a suicide pactafter allegedly being tormented by cops. The victim was raped last year in May and had gone missing since February this year. The police had allegedly been pressuring the family to 'reveal' the whereabouts of the girl as the rape case was pending in the court. The court had set a deadline of April 30 for the police to produce the girl. In his statement to a magistrate on Monday, the father had said that extreme adverse conditions after the disappearance of his daughter, coupled with repeated visits by police, had driven him to attempt suicide with his family. Meanwhile, Haryana Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Minister Geeta Bhukkal described the tragic incident as unfortunate and said that stern action would be taken against those found guilty. An inquiry has been ordered, said the minister. The five members of the family, including husband, wife, and three children, had consumed poisonous tablets by putting them in a pudding prepared in the wee hours of Monday. The minor victim was allegedly raped by a local youth identified as Rohtash Kumar last year in May. The police had registered a case on May 17 and arrested the accused on May 18, 2012.
