Earlier Janki would produce vegetables in her kitchen garden with traditional methods of farming. With this, she could not earn enough to manage her household responsibilities.                             <div align="justify">-The Times of India<br /><br /><em>RAIPUR: </em>By adopting drip irrigation farming technique, Dantewada-based tribal woman Janki Bai has evolved from being a homemaker to a successful farmer, cultivating vegetables in 1.47 hectare of land.<br /><br />Janki's profit ratio increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 13,500 annually.<br /><br />Despite being a restive area in southern Bastar, Dantewada farmers fearlessly carry out their agricultural activities. Earlier Janki would produce vegetables in her kitchen garden with traditional methods of farming. With this, she could not earn enough to manage her household responsibilities. Her family's economical condition was low until she availed various beneficiary schemes by district's horticulture department.<br /><br />Janki expanded the area of cultivation and sowed spices and vegetables like bottle gourd, cabbage, ladies finger and brinjal.<br /><br />A comparative study of production before and after the adoption of beneficiary scheme shows that earlier Janki use to sow paddy and vegetable and get 22 quintal while now she produces hybrid veggies and chillies cultivating 70 quintal of crops.<br /><br />Inspired from the hard work and success of Janki Bai, other farmers of the region have also taken a step ahead.<br /></div><div align="justify">&nbsp;</div><div align="justify"><em>The Times of India, 8 July, 2015, <a href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/articleshow/47980149.cms" title="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/articleshow/47980149.cms">http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-<br />to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/a<br />rticleshow/47980149.cms</a></em> <br /></div>

                            <div align="justify">-The Times of India<br /><br /><em>RAIPUR: </em>By adopting drip irrigation farming technique, Dantewada-based tribal woman Janki Bai has evolved from being a homemaker to a successful farmer, cultivating vegetables in 1.47 hectare of land.<br /><br />Janki's profit ratio increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 13,500 annually.<br /><br />Despite being a restive area in southern Bastar, Dantewada farmers fearlessly carry out their agricultural activities. Earlier Janki would produce vegetables in her kitchen garden with traditional methods of farming. With this, she could not earn enough to manage her household responsibilities. Her family's economical condition was low until she availed various beneficiary schemes by district's horticulture department.<br /><br />Janki expanded the area of cultivation and sowed spices and vegetables like bottle gourd, cabbage, ladies finger and brinjal.<br /><br />A comparative study of production before and after the adoption of beneficiary scheme shows that earlier Janki use to sow paddy and vegetable and get 22 quintal while now she produces hybrid veggies and chillies cultivating 70 quintal of crops.<br /><br />Inspired from the hard work and success of Janki Bai, other farmers of the region have also taken a step ahead.<br /></div><div align="justify">&nbsp;</div><div align="justify"><em>The Times of India, 8 July, 2015, <a href="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/articleshow/47980149.cms" title="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/articleshow/47980149.cms">http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/raipur/From-Rs13k-<br />to-Rs1L-annually-tribal-woman-farmer-has-come-a-long-way/a<br />rticleshow/47980149.cms</a></em> <br /></div>

From Rs13k to Rs1L annually, tribal woman farmer has come a long way

-The Times of India RAIPUR: By adopting drip irrigation farming technique, Dantewada-based tribal woman Janki Bai has evolved from being a homemaker to a successful farmer, cultivating vegetables in 1.47 hectare of land. Janki's profit ratio increased to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 13,500 annually. Despite being a restive area in southern Bastar, Dantewada farmers fearlessly carry out their agricultural activities. Earlier Janki would produce vegetables in her kitchen garden with traditional methods of farming. With this, she could not earn enough to manage her household responsibilities. Her family's economical condition was low until she availed various beneficiary schemes by district's horticulture department. Janki expanded the area of cultivation and sowed spices and vegetables like bottle gourd, cabbage, ladies finger and brinjal. A comparative study of production before and after the adoption of beneficiary scheme shows that earlier Janki use to sow paddy and vegetable and get 22 quintal while now she produces hybrid veggies and chillies cultivating 70 quintal of crops.
