Kochi: Union Minister V Narayanasamy today said there is no complete rollback on Aadhaar linked subsidy on LPG cylinders and a committee has been appointed to take a call on re-introducing it.

"There is no rollback as such. A committee has been appointed and based on their report, government will take a call on re-introducing Aadhaar," the minister told reporters here.

On subsidy transfers to consumers' accounts, Narayanasamy, who is the Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, said: "Many complaints have come, genuine complaints."

The Minister said even in Kerala, the state government had stated that they had not been able to complete the whole process with regard to Aadhaar linkage.

Some states have not completed the linkage process and some have completed 50 per cent. They are facing a lot of difficulties in the transfer of funds, he added.

"Even the chief minister of Kerala made fervent appeal that it (linkage) should be done after some time," he said.

Yesterday, the Aadhar-linked subsidy on LPG cylinders came in for sharp criticism from ministers at a meeting of Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs in Delhi before an announcement was made about it being put on hold.

On e-governance projects, he said they are being implemented by the state government. "We will address the issue. We will ask the state governments to settle the dues of small and medium companies," he said.

The government's priority was to "push" the Service Delivery Bill in the next session of Parliament beginning on February 5. The Bill was a vital area of governance. The UPA government was also keen to bring in a uniform e-Procurement policy, he said.
