Four months after the group announced its internal ombudsman, there has been little headway in the matter. <br /><br />In October last year, the activists had announced that a three-member panel of retired judges headed by Justice AP Shah would investigate charges of impropriety against its members including Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi. <br /><br />Former Delhi high court chief justice AP Shah, Justice BH Marlapalle (retd) of Bombay high court and Justice Jaspal Singh (retd) of Delhi high court were members of the internal lokpal instituted by the group. Kejriwal on Friday said the panel could not begin work due to paucity of time. <br /><br />The group then set up another panel of eminent people with Justice Bhagwati Prasad who retired as chief justice of Jharkhand HC and former Navy chief Admiral L Ramdas being made 'National lokpal' for the party. <br /><br />Kejriwal said that according to the code devised by their internal lokpal, it would not take suo moto cases but only investigate cases referred by a complainant. The internal lokpal has also decided to pursue cases of national executive members only. This has meant that at present, it is only looking at allegations made against Mayank Gandhi. He added that a report on Gandhi would be made public in less than two months. <br /><br />&quot;We did not find any complainant against Prashant Bhushan and Damania is a member of the state unit so she can be investigated by the lokpal's state unit,&quot; Kejriwal said. <br /><br />Bhushan had been accused of land purchase in Himachal Pradesh by circumventing laws while allegations against Gandhi were that he had links with builders. Damania had been questioned on her land deals in Maharashtra.<br /><br /></div>

                            <div align="justify">-The Times of India<br /><br />Aam Aadmi Party may be demanding a strong lokpal but its own &quot;internal lokpal&quot; has been a bit of a non-starter. Four months after the group announced its internal ombudsman, there has been little headway in the matter. <br /><br />In October last year, the activists had announced that a three-member panel of retired judges headed by Justice AP Shah would investigate charges of impropriety against its members including Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi. <br /><br />Former Delhi high court chief justice AP Shah, Justice BH Marlapalle (retd) of Bombay high court and Justice Jaspal Singh (retd) of Delhi high court were members of the internal lokpal instituted by the group. Kejriwal on Friday said the panel could not begin work due to paucity of time. <br /><br />The group then set up another panel of eminent people with Justice Bhagwati Prasad who retired as chief justice of Jharkhand HC and former Navy chief Admiral L Ramdas being made 'National lokpal' for the party. <br /><br />Kejriwal said that according to the code devised by their internal lokpal, it would not take suo moto cases but only investigate cases referred by a complainant. The internal lokpal has also decided to pursue cases of national executive members only. This has meant that at present, it is only looking at allegations made against Mayank Gandhi. He added that a report on Gandhi would be made public in less than two months. <br /><br />&quot;We did not find any complainant against Prashant Bhushan and Damania is a member of the state unit so she can be investigated by the lokpal's state unit,&quot; Kejriwal said. <br /><br />Bhushan had been accused of land purchase in Himachal Pradesh by circumventing laws while allegations against Gandhi were that he had links with builders. Damania had been questioned on her land deals in Maharashtra.<br /><br /></div>

                            <div align="justify">-The Times of India<br /><br />Aam Aadmi Party may be demanding a strong lokpal but its own &quot;internal lokpal&quot; has been a bit of a non-starter. Four months after the group announced its internal ombudsman, there has been little headway in the matter. <br /><br />In October last year, the activists had announced that a three-member panel of retired judges headed by Justice AP Shah would investigate charges of impropriety against its members including Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi. <br /><br />Former Delhi high court chief justice AP Shah, Justice BH Marlapalle (retd) of Bombay high court and Justice Jaspal Singh (retd) of Delhi high court were members of the internal lokpal instituted by the group. Kejriwal on Friday said the panel could not begin work due to paucity of time. <br /><br />The group then set up another panel of eminent people with Justice Bhagwati Prasad who retired as chief justice of Jharkhand HC and former Navy chief Admiral L Ramdas being made 'National lokpal' for the party. <br /><br />Kejriwal said that according to the code devised by their internal lokpal, it would not take suo moto cases but only investigate cases referred by a complainant. The internal lokpal has also decided to pursue cases of national executive members only. This has meant that at present, it is only looking at allegations made against Mayank Gandhi. He added that a report on Gandhi would be made public in less than two months. <br /><br />&quot;We did not find any complainant against Prashant Bhushan and Damania is a member of the state unit so she can be investigated by the lokpal's state unit,&quot; Kejriwal said. <br /><br />Bhushan had been accused of land purchase in Himachal Pradesh by circumventing laws while allegations against Gandhi were that he had links with builders. Damania had been questioned on her land deals in Maharashtra.<br /><br /></div>

Aam Aadmi Party’s ‘internal lokpal’ still to submit report

-The Times of India Aam Aadmi Party may be demanding a strong lokpal but its own "internal lokpal" has been a bit of a non-starter. Four months after the group announced its internal ombudsman, there has been little headway in the matter. In October last year, the activists had announced that a three-member panel of retired judges headed by Justice AP Shah would investigate charges of impropriety against its members including Prashant Bhushan, Anjali Damania and Mayank Gandhi. Former Delhi high court chief justice AP Shah, Justice BH Marlapalle (retd) of Bombay high court and Justice Jaspal Singh (retd) of Delhi high court were members of the internal lokpal instituted by the group. Kejriwal on Friday said the panel could not begin work due to paucity of time. The group then set up another panel of eminent people with Justice Bhagwati Prasad who retired as chief justice of Jharkhand HC and former Navy chief Admiral L Ramdas being made 'National lokpal' for the party. Kejriwal said that according to the code devised by their internal lokpal, it would not take suo moto cases but only investigate cases referred by a complainant. The internal lokpal has also decided to pursue cases of national executive members only. This has meant that at present, it is only looking at allegations made against Mayank Gandhi. He added that a report on Gandhi would be made public in less than two months. "We did not find any complainant against Prashant Bhushan and Damania is a member of the state unit so she can be investigated by the lokpal's state unit," Kejriwal said. Bhushan had been accused of land purchase in Himachal Pradesh by circumventing laws while allegations against Gandhi were that he had links with builders. Damania had been questioned on her land deals in Maharashtra.
