NEW DELHI: Unlike the Class XII results, the performance of Delhi government schools in CBSE’s Class X examination has been a cause of concern.

While 73 schools have recorded a pass percentage of less than 50%, 88 schools have witnessed a dip in the same by more than 20% points, reveal official documents. Although the overall pass percentage has improved by 2.64% points to 71.97% this year, Delhi stands second from the last among the 10 CBSE regions.

In the Class XII exams, Delhi government schools were at the top of CBSE’s region list with an average pass percentage of 94.29% against last year’s 90.68%.

Following a detailed review of the Class X results, the DoE has made a list of the schools with poor results, a copy of which is with TOI.

Delhi School

Government Boys’ Senior Secondary School (GBSSS), Varun Marg, Defence Colony has the lowest pass percentage at 26.92%, a drop of almost 24.59% points from last year. This school has been continuously seeing a drop in the pass percentage since 2017, when the count was 74%.
