                            <p>-The Hindu</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div align="justify">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said on Saturday it was imperative that necessary measures to allay people's fears over the Kundakulam Nuclear Power Project were taken before any precipitate action was embarked upon.<br /><br />In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, she said she was amazed to see in the media that at a joint press conference with the Russian President he had announced that the KKNPP would be &ldquo;operationalised in a couple of weeks.&rdquo;<br /><br />She recalled that following the State Cabinet's resolution that further work should be halted until the fears of the local people were allayed and after the presentation of a memorandum to the Prime Minister by a delegation led by the Finance Minister, the Union government constituted an expert committee to interact with the nominees of the local people to explain the position on the safety aspects.<br /><br />&ldquo;The State government is facilitating the interaction through local officials. The satisfaction of the people of the area is of paramount importance to my government and the State of Tamil Nadu,&rdquo; she said.</div>

                            <p>-The Hindu</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div align="justify">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said on Saturday it was imperative that necessary measures to allay people's fears over the Kundakulam Nuclear Power Project were taken before any precipitate action was embarked upon.<br /><br />In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, she said she was amazed to see in the media that at a joint press conference with the Russian President he had announced that the KKNPP would be &ldquo;operationalised in a couple of weeks.&rdquo;<br /><br />She recalled that following the State Cabinet's resolution that further work should be halted until the fears of the local people were allayed and after the presentation of a memorandum to the Prime Minister by a delegation led by the Finance Minister, the Union government constituted an expert committee to interact with the nominees of the local people to explain the position on the safety aspects.<br /><br />&ldquo;The State government is facilitating the interaction through local officials. The satisfaction of the people of the area is of paramount importance to my government and the State of Tamil Nadu,&rdquo; she said.</div>

                            <p>-The Hindu</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div align="justify">Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said on Saturday it was imperative that necessary measures to allay people's fears over the Kundakulam Nuclear Power Project were taken before any precipitate action was embarked upon.<br /><br />In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, she said she was amazed to see in the media that at a joint press conference with the Russian President he had announced that the KKNPP would be &ldquo;operationalised in a couple of weeks.&rdquo;<br /><br />She recalled that following the State Cabinet's resolution that further work should be halted until the fears of the local people were allayed and after the presentation of a memorandum to the Prime Minister by a delegation led by the Finance Minister, the Union government constituted an expert committee to interact with the nominees of the local people to explain the position on the safety aspects.<br /><br />&ldquo;The State government is facilitating the interaction through local officials. The satisfaction of the people of the area is of paramount importance to my government and the State of Tamil Nadu,&rdquo; she said.</div>

Jayalalithaa amazed at PM's statement

-The Hindu   Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said on Saturday it was imperative that necessary measures to allay people's fears over the Kundakulam Nuclear Power Project were taken before any precipitate action was embarked upon. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, she said she was amazed to see in the media that at a joint press conference with the Russian President he had announced that the KKNPP would be “operationalised in a couple of weeks.” She recalled that following the State Cabinet's resolution that further work should be halted until the fears of the local people were allayed and after the presentation of a memorandum to the Prime Minister by a delegation led by the Finance Minister, the Union government constituted an expert committee to interact with the nominees of the local people to explain the position on the safety aspects. “The State government is facilitating the interaction through local officials. The satisfaction of the people of the area is of paramount importance to my government and the State of Tamil Nadu,” she said.
