Karnataka farmers yet to benefit from govt's agri reforms -Sharan Poovanna

BENGALURU:
It has been four months since 24-year-old Chandan from Mallehalli village in Mysuru district sold his produce of around 1,000kg of tomatoes in the local market. At nearly Rs.500 for 20kg, prices were good and have been since January, for tomatoes.

Chandan made around Rs.80,000 for his produce after months of hard labour in uncertain weather and soil conditions, earning a profit of around Rs.40,000. However, the commission or trading agent pocketed a neat Rs.20,000.
