Rural level micro plans will be chalked out for sustainable exploitation of natural resources and making rain-fed agriculture profitable. Under the micro plans, several works of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme will be taken up in an integrated way with the convergence of other government schemes and programmes. This information was given by Principal Secretary R. Parshuram while addressing a workshop at Academy of Administration here today. The workshop has been organised to discuss rural micro plan scheme for integrated and sustainable exploitation of natural resources. The workshop is being attended by district level nodal officers and representatives of voluntary organisations. MP Rajya Rozgar Guarantee Parishad CEO Umakant Umrao, Joint Commissioner Ved Prakash and other departmental officers were also present on the occasion.

Principal Secretary Parshuram said that proper management of resources is necessary for the development of rural areas. Since the geographical conditions in the state are not save everywhere, different areas have specific problems. Therefore, it is necessary that their solutions should also be in accordance with the specific problems of various areas. For this purpose, local resources should be exploited in an integrated way so that there is effective convergence of various government schemes. Efforts which are in an isolated manner do not succeed generally. Therefore, programme should be implemented through convergence by connecting people.

He informed that rural development works will be strengthened further. For this, a method is being evolved for working with self-help groups. A clear-cut policy will be made for coordination between Gram Panchayats and Self-help Groups. Mentioning Jalabhishek Abhiyan in this connection, Parshuram said that efforts should be made to undertake it continuously. He said that Nadi Punarjeevan Yojana has been implemented under the campaign so that water flows for long time in rivers which generally go dry after monsoon season. A phased scheme has been chalked out for this. During the workshop, the participants discussed various issues at group discussions and put forth suggestions for making scheme implementation move effective.
