                            <br /><div align="justify">Out of 228 panchayats chosen at random from one block out of the 249 blocks in the state, for comparison of NREGA wages, a maximum of 35% have got wages between Rs 21 to Rs 30 in 2010. <br /><br />The figures also show that in most of these panchayats, it is only a handful of families that have completed 100 days of work. In fact, it is hardly alarming that the state is seeing a shortage of people opting to work under NREGA. Sources said that in a survey conducted by the government, what have clearly emerged is that few people are opting for work under the scheme. <br /><br />&quot;With falling wages and lesser number of work days available, why would people come to work under the scheme,&quot; asks Nikhil Dey of the Abhiyan.<br /><br />It is not just that the average wage over the years has reduced from Rs 88 in 2008-09 during the BJP regime to Rs 69 in 2010-11. In 2010-11, just 1,51,326 families got employment People turn a blind eye to NREGA work.</div>

                            <br /><div align="justify">Out of 228 panchayats chosen at random from one block out of the 249 blocks in the state, for comparison of NREGA wages, a maximum of 35% have got wages between Rs 21 to Rs 30 in 2010. <br /><br />The figures also show that in most of these panchayats, it is only a handful of families that have completed 100 days of work. In fact, it is hardly alarming that the state is seeing a shortage of people opting to work under NREGA. Sources said that in a survey conducted by the government, what have clearly emerged is that few people are opting for work under the scheme. <br /><br />&quot;With falling wages and lesser number of work days available, why would people come to work under the scheme,&quot; asks Nikhil Dey of the Abhiyan.<br /><br />It is not just that the average wage over the years has reduced from Rs 88 in 2008-09 during the BJP regime to Rs 69 in 2010-11. In 2010-11, just 1,51,326 families got employment People turn a blind eye to NREGA work.</div>

                            <br /><div align="justify">Out of 228 panchayats chosen at random from one block out of the 249 blocks in the state, for comparison of NREGA wages, a maximum of 35% have got wages between Rs 21 to Rs 30 in 2010. <br /><br />The figures also show that in most of these panchayats, it is only a handful of families that have completed 100 days of work. In fact, it is hardly alarming that the state is seeing a shortage of people opting to work under NREGA. Sources said that in a survey conducted by the government, what have clearly emerged is that few people are opting for work under the scheme. <br /><br />&quot;With falling wages and lesser number of work days available, why would people come to work under the scheme,&quot; asks Nikhil Dey of the Abhiyan.<br /><br />It is not just that the average wage over the years has reduced from Rs 88 in 2008-09 during the BJP regime to Rs 69 in 2010-11. In 2010-11, just 1,51,326 families got employment People turn a blind eye to NREGA work.</div>

Out of 228 panchayats chosen at random from one block out of the 249 blocks in the state, for comparison of NREGA wages, a maximum of 35% have got wages between Rs 21 to Rs 30 in 2010. The figures also show that in most of these panchayats, it is only a handful of families that have completed 100 days of work. In fact, it is hardly alarming that the state is seeing a shortage of people opting to work under NREGA. Sources said that in a survey conducted by the government, what have clearly emerged is that few people are opting for work under the scheme. "With falling wages and lesser number of work days available, why would people come to work under the scheme," asks Nikhil Dey of the Abhiyan. It is not just that the average wage over the years has reduced from Rs 88 in 2008-09 during the BJP regime to Rs 69 in 2010-11. In 2010-11, just 1,51,326 families got employment People turn a blind eye to NREGA work.
