The Rajasthan Budget for 2011-12 will make a special provision for establishment of health sub-centres and primary health centres in the tribal-dominated regions of southern regions in the State, considered remote and geographically difficult to access.

State Medical and Health Minister A. A. Khan said at Gainji village in Dungarpur district on Monday that his department's officers would submit the proposals for budgetary allocations at the district level to strengthen the health care services at the grassroots.

“Through the special budgetary provisions, the State Government will strengthen the infrastructure for reaching out to the most underprivileged tribal people and resolve the issue of shortage of doctors and para-medical staff in hospitals,” said Mr. Khan.

The Minister said proposals for revising the salary of medicos posted in the tribal-dominated areas and construction of houses for them were under consideration.

The National Rural Health Mission was making a significant contribution to the improvement of medical services in village, he added.
