                            <p style="text-align:justify">-TheWire.in</p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>The petitioner, Global Village Foundation Public Trust, told the SC bench that it has challenged the notification issued by the Bengal government constituting the commission on the ground of jurisdiction.</em></p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>New Delhi: </em>The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 18, refused to stay the notification issued by the West Bengal government, setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the revelations of the Pegasus Project.</p><p style="text-align:justify">The commission is headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur and also has the former acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta high court, Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya.</p><p style="text-align:justify">As part of the Pegasus Project international media consortium, including The Wire, has revealed that over 300 verified Indian mobile phone numbers were on the list of potential and successful targets for surveillance using the Israeli NSO Group&rsquo;s Pegasus spyware.                             <p style="text-align:justify">-TheWire.in</p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>The petitioner, Global Village Foundation Public Trust, told the SC bench that it has challenged the notification issued by the Bengal government constituting the commission on the ground of jurisdiction.</em></p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>New Delhi: </em>The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 18, refused to stay the notification issued by the West Bengal government, setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the revelations of the Pegasus Project.</p><p style="text-align:justify">The commission is headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur and also has the former acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta high court, Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya.</p><p style="text-align:justify">As part of the Pegasus Project international media consortium, including The Wire, has revealed that over 300 verified Indian mobile phone numbers were on the list of potential and successful targets for surveillance using the Israeli NSO Group&rsquo;s Pegasus spyware.                             <p style="text-align:justify">-TheWire.in</p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>The petitioner, Global Village Foundation Public Trust, told the SC bench that it has challenged the notification issued by the Bengal government constituting the commission on the ground of jurisdiction.</em></p><p style="text-align:justify"><em>New Delhi: </em>The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 18, refused to stay the notification issued by the West Bengal government, setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the revelations of the Pegasus Project.</p><p style="text-align:justify">The commission is headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur and also has the former acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta high court, Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya.</p><p style="text-align:justify">As part of the Pegasus Project international media consortium, including The Wire, has revealed that over 300 verified Indian mobile phone numbers were on the list of potential and successful targets for surveillance using the Israeli NSO Group&rsquo;s Pegasus spyware. SC Refuses to Stay WB Govt Notification on Pegasus Inquiry Panel; Issues Notice to Union, State

-TheWire.in The petitioner, Global Village Foundation Public Trust, told the SC bench that it has challenged the notification issued by the Bengal government constituting the commission on the ground of jurisdiction. New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday, August 18, refused to stay the notification issued by the West Bengal government, setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the revelations of the Pegasus Project. The commission is headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice Madan B. Lokur and also has the former acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta high court, Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya. As part of the Pegasus Project international media consortium, including The Wire, has revealed that over 300 verified Indian mobile phone numbers were on the list of potential and successful targets for surveillance using the Israeli NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware. Those on the list include opposition politicians, activists, former Supreme Court judges, and several journalists. Please click here to read more.
