                            <div align="justify">-India Today</div><p align="justify"><br />India seems to be staring at a possible drought in some regions with the met department reporting a acute deficit in rainfall in many areas.</p><p align="justify">Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall and a warning has been issued of a possible high tide of 4.95 metres at 2.28 pm today.</p><p align="justify">High tides above 4 meters are considered as dangerous and so BMC's disaster management department will keep tight security at all beaches and sea areas.</p><p align="justify">The national capital, Delhi is yet to see a major spell of rainfall. So far the met department has reported a total deficit of 42 per cent in the monsoon in northern India. However, rainfall is expected to take place in another 4-5 days. The met department has also forecast that the humidity level will be low from next week and the temperature will range around 35-36 degrees.</p><p align="justify">In Gujarat, the Met department has observed a 91 per cent deficit in rainfall. A similar situation has been reported from large parts of Uttar Pradesh, especially the Bundelkhand region where the met department has predicted similar deficits.</p><p align="justify">In an advisory issued on July 14, the met department reported that all over India, the total rainfall had been 160.6 mm as against the norm of 279.7 mm, a departure of 43 per cent from the normal average.</p><p align="justify">The highest deficit was reported from central and Northwest India which have reported 57 and 54 per cent departure from the average. Central India received a total of 125.6 mm rainfall as against 292.8 mm and Northwest India received a total rainfall of 67.6 mm as against 148.5mm.</p><p align="justify">In its forecast for July 15, the met department said &quot;heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal &amp; Sikkim, Konkan &amp; Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.&quot;</p><p align="justify">It also said, &quot;Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.&quot;</p>

                            <div align="justify">-India Today</div><p align="justify"><br />India seems to be staring at a possible drought in some regions with the met department reporting a acute deficit in rainfall in many areas.</p><p align="justify">Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall and a warning has been issued of a possible high tide of 4.95 metres at 2.28 pm today.</p><p align="justify">High tides above 4 meters are considered as dangerous and so BMC's disaster management department will keep tight security at all beaches and sea areas.</p><p align="justify">The national capital, Delhi is yet to see a major spell of rainfall. So far the met department has reported a total deficit of 42 per cent in the monsoon in northern India. However, rainfall is expected to take place in another 4-5 days. The met department has also forecast that the humidity level will be low from next week and the temperature will range around 35-36 degrees.</p><p align="justify">In Gujarat, the Met department has observed a 91 per cent deficit in rainfall. A similar situation has been reported from large parts of Uttar Pradesh, especially the Bundelkhand region where the met department has predicted similar deficits.</p><p align="justify">In an advisory issued on July 14, the met department reported that all over India, the total rainfall had been 160.6 mm as against the norm of 279.7 mm, a departure of 43 per cent from the normal average.</p><p align="justify">The highest deficit was reported from central and Northwest India which have reported 57 and 54 per cent departure from the average. Central India received a total of 125.6 mm rainfall as against 292.8 mm and Northwest India received a total rainfall of 67.6 mm as against 148.5mm.</p><p align="justify">In its forecast for July 15, the met department said &quot;heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal &amp; Sikkim, Konkan &amp; Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.&quot;</p><p align="justify">It also said, &quot;Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.&quot;</p>

                            <div align="justify">-India Today</div><p align="justify"><br />India seems to be staring at a possible drought in some regions with the met department reporting a acute deficit in rainfall in many areas.</p><p align="justify">Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall and a warning has been issued of a possible high tide of 4.95 metres at 2.28 pm today.</p><p align="justify">High tides above 4 meters are considered as dangerous and so BMC's disaster management department will keep tight security at all beaches and sea areas.</p><p align="justify">The national capital, Delhi is yet to see a major spell of rainfall. So far the met department has reported a total deficit of 42 per cent in the monsoon in northern India. However, rainfall is expected to take place in another 4-5 days. The met department has also forecast that the humidity level will be low from next week and the temperature will range around 35-36 degrees.</p><p align="justify">In Gujarat, the Met department has observed a 91 per cent deficit in rainfall. A similar situation has been reported from large parts of Uttar Pradesh, especially the Bundelkhand region where the met department has predicted similar deficits.</p><p align="justify">In an advisory issued on July 14, the met department reported that all over India, the total rainfall had been 160.6 mm as against the norm of 279.7 mm, a departure of 43 per cent from the normal average.</p><p align="justify">The highest deficit was reported from central and Northwest India which have reported 57 and 54 per cent departure from the average. Central India received a total of 125.6 mm rainfall as against 292.8 mm and Northwest India received a total rainfall of 67.6 mm as against 148.5mm.</p><p align="justify">In its forecast for July 15, the met department said &quot;heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal &amp; Sikkim, Konkan &amp; Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.&quot;</p><p align="justify">It also said, &quot;Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.&quot;</p>

Scanty rainfall triggers drought fears in Gujarat, UP

-India Today India seems to be staring at a possible drought in some regions with the met department reporting a acute deficit in rainfall in many areas. Mumbai has been receiving heavy rainfall and a warning has been issued of a possible high tide of 4.95 metres at 2.28 pm today. High tides above 4 meters are considered as dangerous and so BMC's disaster management department will keep tight security at all beaches and sea areas. The national capital, Delhi is yet to see a major spell of rainfall. So far the met department has reported a total deficit of 42 per cent in the monsoon in northern India. However, rainfall is expected to take place in another 4-5 days. The met department has also forecast that the humidity level will be low from next week and the temperature will range around 35-36 degrees. In Gujarat, the Met department has observed a 91 per cent deficit in rainfall. A similar situation has been reported from large parts of Uttar Pradesh, especially the Bundelkhand region where the met department has predicted similar deficits. In an advisory issued on July 14, the met department reported that all over India, the total rainfall had been 160.6 mm as against the norm of 279.7 mm, a departure of 43 per cent from the normal average. The highest deficit was reported from central and Northwest India which have reported 57 and 54 per cent departure from the average. Central India received a total of 125.6 mm rainfall as against 292.8 mm and Northwest India received a total rainfall of 67.6 mm as against 148.5mm. In its forecast for July 15, the met department said "heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala." It also said, "Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana."
