                            <p>Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy</p><p>Sales of scooters (including electric scooters) increased by a handsome 7 per cent in April 2023. Motorcycle sales grew modestly, by 2.9 per cent, while moped sales fell by 7 per cent in April 2023. Total two-wheeler sales in April 2023 were 4 per cent higher than in March 2023.</p><p>Scooters led the recovery in two-wheeler sales in 2022-23 with a 26 per cent jump. Its leader position prevailed in April 2023 as well. Motorcycles have continued to record low single digit growth this year much like its 3 per cent growth in 2022-23. Moped sales fell nearly 8 per cent in 2022-23 and its fall continues into 2023-24.</p><p>Scooter sales account for a third of total two-wheeler sales. Thus, the segment was a major contributor to the growth in two wheeler sales in April 2023. The contribution of motorcycles, in comparison, was a tad lower.</p><p>Scooter sales continue to do well. April 2023 was the fourth consecutive month of an increase in scooter sales. This was the fourth successive month wherein scooter sales grew sequentially. While scooter sales have risen during the period, the growth has been quite volatile.                             <p>Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy</p><p>Sales of scooters (including electric scooters) increased by a handsome 7 per cent in April 2023. Motorcycle sales grew modestly, by 2.9 per cent, while moped sales fell by 7 per cent in April 2023. Total two-wheeler sales in April 2023 were 4 per cent higher than in March 2023.</p><p>Scooters led the recovery in two-wheeler sales in 2022-23 with a 26 per cent jump. Its leader position prevailed in April 2023 as well. Motorcycles have continued to record low single digit growth this year much like its 3 per cent growth in 2022-23. Moped sales fell nearly 8 per cent in 2022-23 and its fall continues into 2023-24.</p><p>Scooter sales account for a third of total two-wheeler sales. Thus, the segment was a major contributor to the growth in two wheeler sales in April 2023. The contribution of motorcycles, in comparison, was a tad lower.</p><p>Scooter sales continue to do well. April 2023 was the fourth consecutive month of an increase in scooter sales. This was the fourth successive month wherein scooter sales grew sequentially. While scooter sales have risen during the period, the growth has been quite volatile.                             <p>Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy</p><p>Sales of scooters (including electric scooters) increased by a handsome 7 per cent in April 2023. Motorcycle sales grew modestly, by 2.9 per cent, while moped sales fell by 7 per cent in April 2023. Total two-wheeler sales in April 2023 were 4 per cent higher than in March 2023.</p><p>Scooters led the recovery in two-wheeler sales in 2022-23 with a 26 per cent jump. Its leader position prevailed in April 2023 as well. Motorcycles have continued to record low single digit growth this year much like its 3 per cent growth in 2022-23. Moped sales fell nearly 8 per cent in 2022-23 and its fall continues into 2023-24.</p><p>Scooter sales account for a third of total two-wheeler sales. Thus, the segment was a major contributor to the growth in two wheeler sales in April 2023. The contribution of motorcycles, in comparison, was a tad lower.</p><p>Scooter sales continue to do well. April 2023 was the fourth consecutive month of an increase in scooter sales. This was the fourth successive month wherein scooter sales grew sequentially. While scooter sales have risen during the period, the growth has been quite volatile. Scooters power two-wheeler sales - Mahesh Vyas

Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy Sales of scooters (including electric scooters) increased by a handsome 7 per cent in April 2023. Motorcycle sales grew modestly, by 2.9 per cent, while moped sales fell by 7 per cent in April 2023. Total two-wheeler sales in April 2023 were 4 per cent higher than in March 2023. Scooters led the recovery in two-wheeler sales in 2022-23 with a 26 per cent jump. Its leader position prevailed in April 2023 as well. Motorcycles have continued to record low single digit growth this year much like its 3 per cent growth in 2022-23. Moped sales fell nearly 8 per cent in 2022-23 and its fall continues into 2023-24. Scooter sales account for a third of total two-wheeler sales. Thus, the segment was a major contributor to the growth in two wheeler sales in April 2023. The contribution of motorcycles, in comparison, was a tad lower. Scooter sales continue to do well. April 2023 was the fourth consecutive month of an increase in scooter sales. This was the fourth successive month wherein scooter sales grew sequentially. While scooter sales have risen during the period, the growth has been quite volatile.
