It will reduce interface between officials and people; will provide 20 certificates within 10 minutes: Kiran

In a bid to curb corruption by reducing interface between the officials and the common man, the State government will shortly introduce a new and transparent system for providing 20 certificates required by an individual within 10 minutes, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar has said.

Speaking at a function organised by Gandhi Global Family and AP Bhoodan Yagna Board to mark Acharya Vinoba Bhave's birth anniversary here on Sunday, Mr. Reddy said the digitally signed certificates by Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) concerned would be made available at centres similar to eSeva. The proposed services would be launched in three districts on a pilot basis.

After implementing it for six months and plugging the loopholes that might arise, it would be expanded to provide 60 certificates. The whole objective was to ensure a transparent system and curb corruption.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad said the preaching of Gandhi on truth and non-violence was relevant in the present times and more so here (Andhra Pradesh).

Lauding the distribution of 44 lakh acres to the poor under Bhoodan movement all over the country, the Chief Minister said the State government proposed to distribute 25 lakh acres among SCs/ STs in a phased manner. In the first phase, Rs.7,000-crore would be spent and 5 lakh acres would be made irrigable in 211 blocks in the State this year and distributed among the poor. An equal extent of land would be given next year.

Mr. Reddy reiterated that 15 lakh jobs would be provided over the next three years. Before the end of the year, one lakh appointment letters would be given on a single day. He declared that the highway at Pochampalli would be widened and the road would be named after Ramchandra Reddy, the first person to have responded to Acharya Vinoba Bhave's call by donating 100 acres.

Referring to the plea made by A.P. Bhoodhan Yagna Board chairman C.V.Chari for bringing out a stamp on Ramchandra Reddy, Mr. Azad promised to take up the issue with the Union Telecommunications Minister.

Turns philosophical

Mr. Reddy turned a tad philosophical and said nobody comes into the world with any baggage, nor does take any while departing from this place. It would be good if everyone kept this truth in mind.

He said there was no need to accumulate wealth to meet the requirements of several generations. He said those committing any wrong should be punished firmly and more stringently if they were public representatives.

Digitally signed certificates by MRO will be made available at centres similar to eSeva
