                            <p align="justify"><font >A government survey has showed wide disparity between male and female wage earners in the 15-59 age group both in urban and rural areas.<br /><br />The study conducted by National Sample Survey Office for 2007-08 said that while the average wage rate in rural areas was Rs 175.30 per day for males it was Rs 108.14 for females.<br /><br />Similarly, in urban areas, the average wage rate for males was Rs 276.04 per day against 212.86 for females.<br /><br />In rural areas, the average male wage rate for casual labourers other than NREGA public works was Rs 76.02 while that for females was Rs 70.66, according to the survey.<br /><br />The survey carried out between July 2007 and June 2008 covered a random sample of 5.72 lakh people from 79,091 rural households and 46,487 urban households spread over 7921 villages and 4668 urban blocks across the country.</font></p>

                            <p align="justify"><font >A government survey has showed wide disparity between male and female wage earners in the 15-59 age group both in urban and rural areas.<br /><br />The study conducted by National Sample Survey Office for 2007-08 said that while the average wage rate in rural areas was Rs 175.30 per day for males it was Rs 108.14 for females.<br /><br />Similarly, in urban areas, the average wage rate for males was Rs 276.04 per day against 212.86 for females.<br /><br />In rural areas, the average male wage rate for casual labourers other than NREGA public works was Rs 76.02 while that for females was Rs 70.66, according to the survey.<br /><br />The survey carried out between July 2007 and June 2008 covered a random sample of 5.72 lakh people from 79,091 rural households and 46,487 urban households spread over 7921 villages and 4668 urban blocks across the country.</font></p>

                            <p align="justify"><font >A government survey has showed wide disparity between male and female wage earners in the 15-59 age group both in urban and rural areas.<br /><br />The study conducted by National Sample Survey Office for 2007-08 said that while the average wage rate in rural areas was Rs 175.30 per day for males it was Rs 108.14 for females.<br /><br />Similarly, in urban areas, the average wage rate for males was Rs 276.04 per day against 212.86 for females.<br /><br />In rural areas, the average male wage rate for casual labourers other than NREGA public works was Rs 76.02 while that for females was Rs 70.66, according to the survey.<br /><br />The survey carried out between July 2007 and June 2008 covered a random sample of 5.72 lakh people from 79,091 rural households and 46,487 urban households spread over 7921 villages and 4668 urban blocks across the country.</font></p>

Survey shows disparity in wages of men and women

A government survey has showed wide disparity between male and female wage earners in the 15-59 age group both in urban and rural areas. The study conducted by National Sample Survey Office for 2007-08 said that while the average wage rate in rural areas was Rs 175.30 per day for males it was Rs 108.14 for females. Similarly, in urban areas, the average wage rate for males was Rs 276.04 per day against 212.86 for females. In rural areas, the average male wage rate for casual labourers other than NREGA public works was Rs 76.02 while that for females was Rs 70.66, according to the survey. The survey carried out between July 2007 and June 2008 covered a random sample of 5.72 lakh people from 79,091 rural households and 46,487 urban households spread over 7921 villages and 4668 urban blocks across the country.
