City-based Public Concern for Governance Trust has decided to provide a platform to citizens who are scared of filing right to information (RTI) applications.

The Trust has urged citizens to write to them about the RTI application they want to file and the reasons for it. Acting chairman of the Trust, Bhaskar Misar, said that each application will be studied by their team of legal experts, and if found to be in public interest, they will themselves file an RTI application and follow up on it. The name of the citizen who has submitted the RTI request will be kept completely anonymous. Misar said that this will shield citizens from personal attacks which have been on the rise in the recent past.

Citizens can send in their complaints along with detailed reasons supporting their case to "Public Concern for Governance Trust, c/o Sancheti hospital, 16, Shivajinagar, Pune-5". The Trust members can also be contacted on email address , or on telephone number 64005613.
