After the GST Council meeting, the government had announced that traders whose annual turnover is below Rs 1.5 crore will now have to file returns quarterly, instead of monthly.

Surat (Gujarat): Textile traders in Surat said they were unhappy with the relief measures relating to GST announced by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday. After the GST Council meeting, the government had announced that traders whose annual turnover is below Rs 1.5 crore will now have to file returns quarterly, instead of monthly. Moreover, GST on yarn has been reduced from 18 per cent to 12 per cent and zari items from 12 to 5 per cent.
